As I sat in meditation this evening, the emotions of grief and loss were very powerful following the end of my water fast earlier today. I associate these with the experience of grieving over the loss of food over the past 36 hours, a feeling that was suppressed only partially consciously.
A quick look via Ecosia for "best moon phase for fasting" brought me http://www.moonconnection.com/moon-diet.phtml which recommends a fasting day on either the full moon or new moon. As it is the full moon today, I felt this was auspicious and plan to do a fasting day of silence on the following Full Moon. However, I feel I may be very interested in another fasting day in two weeks on the New Moon.
My plan is:
2 days before Full Moon
- light dinner with few carbohydrate, and no white flower, sugar, toxic stuff etc
Day before Full Moon
- Breakfast of antioxidant and power-full smoothie including walnuts, oats, banana, berries, walnuts, hemp protein, acai berry powder, spirulina, chia seeds, cocoa nibs, chia seeds etc.
- Drinking lemon water in between breakfast and lunch
- Lunch of lighter more fruit based smoothie but also high fiber with flaxseed, chia seeds, spirulina, berries etc.
- For dinner similar smoothie as lunch and lemon water in between meals
- Before sleeping, about 250ml of activated charcoal and bentonite clay infused distilled water followed by 500ml of water 30 mins later.
Full Moon Day
- Full water fasting day
- Before sleeping, again about 250ml of activated charcoal and bentonite clay infused distilled water followed by 500ml of water 30 mins later.
Day after full moon
- Lemon infused water upon waking, a couple pieces of watermelon/nectarine then 30 minutes later light, fruit based smoothie with spirulina and other alkalising nutrient rich ingredients
- Wait out the period between waking and lunch with lemon infused water
- Lunch another smoothie with some more rich ingredients e.g., avocado, kale, broccoli, spinach, perhaps oats and walnuts
- Wait at least 2 hours, and then can start eating as normal.
Following much reading on http://allaboutfasting.com and other sites as well as the BBC documentary Eat Fast Live Longer, which I found the links to IGF1 and longevity particularly interesting, I feel this would be a fantastic way to approach a fast. I will report when I attempt this process :)
Much love and embracing hugs in wholeness to you there reading this ;) hello!
